Every year on July 1st, the entire country gets together with friends and family to celebrate Canada Day. However, due to COVID-19, many events have been canceled to keep everyone safe. If one of your favorite celebrations has been canceled or you’re trying to stay safe, we have the perfect solution for you. No matter where you live, you can celebrate with fellow Canadians across the country.

Online Canada Day Celebrations Across the Country
- Virtual Surrey Canada Day. This celebration will be livestreamed on YouTube and Facebook. Different segments will include a kids’ show, seniors’ show, musical entertainment, virtual tours, dance lessons, a rodeo, and virtual fireworks. Performers include 54-40, Bif Naked, Colin James, Sleepy Gonzales, and Wild Moccasins.
- Canada Day Together (Government of Canada). Hosted by Serena Ryder and Pierre-Yves Lord, this annual evening show has moved completely online. Enjoy performances broadcast from Halifax, Toronto, and Vancouver from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Artists performing include Avril Lavigne, Alanis Morisette, and Sarah McLachlan.
- Mission: Virtual Canada Day. Starting at 10:30 a.m., join the District of Mission’s live Canada Day celebration on Facebook. This celebration will include a National Anthem singalong, a flag-raising ceremony, local artists, musicians, dancers and much more. This event will also start with a welcome message from the Leq’á:mel First Nation.
